Job Scope:
We seek an Application Engineer - CI/CD / DevOps to join our Application Production team.

In this role, you'll be the CI/CD (continuous integration / continuous deployment) automation expert within the application department in charge of promoting DevOps model to increase developer and operation team productivity through well-orchestrated automated services in various stages of application lifecycle. This is a hands-on technical role but with a high degree of collaboration to drive cultural changes and to promote best practices around CI/CD principles with a focus on CD side to reduce operational effort and improve customer experience.

As we are covering the bank's global operations, you will work in rotational shifts and also be occasionally doing on-call support during non-business hours. This will be an opportunity to have a better perspective of what can be further improved in production.

On-call support: This covers 7 consecutive days during non-business hours to manage escalated incidents and to work on planned changes, weekend included.
Rotational shifts: Members in the team will rotate accordingly around 3 shifts (time will shift to an hour later during the daylight saving time period in the year).

  • Morning: 7am - 4pm
  • Afternoon: 2pm - 11pm
  • Evening: 5pm - 2am

Main responsibilities:

  • Bridge the gaps between software development and IT operation teams by promoting a collaborative culture.
  • Work in close collaboration with software development team, security team, and operation team to automate, streamline, and optimize the application deployment operations and processes.
  • Maintain and improve existing workflow processes and framework.
  • Identify, plan, and drive the development of tools to reduce operational cost and improve customer experience.
  • Animate discussions (including trainings) with IT operation teams to promote DevOps model within the department.
  • Contribute to the growth of the DevOps community of the company.
  • Continuous improvement of service.
  • Propose improvement and solution to reduce repetitive tasks.
  • Manage and share knowledge within the team.
  • Liaise with development and support teams to grab more knowledge.

Job Qualifications:

  • Degree in Computer Engineering / Information Technology or in a related discipline.
  • Knowledge on Unix with experience in scripting and automation. Basic knowledge on Windows scripting and Active Directory.
  • 3+ years of work experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar software engineering role with successful implementation of deployment automation & orchestration is a must.
  • Excellent knowledge of Linux/Unix and Windows OS (operating system).
  • An excellent communicator.
  • Understand the DevOps transformation journey in large enterprise will be highly advantageous.
  • Comfortable in agile working environment.
  • Expertise in design principles, patterns, and best practices.
  • Experience with continuous integration and deployment tools - Jenkins, TFS, Git, Ansible, Selenium, Docker.
  • Experience with leading, coaching and mentoring individuals and teams.
  • Enjoy participating in open-source initiatives.
  • Influence others and lead by example.
  • Experience in a banking environment is preferable.
  • Knowlegeable in ITIL best practices. Have proactive mindset, flexibility, and adaptability.
  • Comfortable working on rotational shifts and on-call support.
