Responsibilities:
- Monitor alerts for various database, including MariaDB, PostgreSQL, EDB, Oracle, DB2, MSSQL, Redis, and MongoDB, and take appropriate actions to ensure stability and performance.
- Perform daily health checks of production databases to ensure high availability, security, and optimal performance.
- Monitor daily backups and implement recovery solutions to ensure data resilience and business continuity.
- Manage database availability and performance, including incident and problem management processes.
- Collaborate with the Major Incident Management (MIM) team to resolve and coordinate responses to high-criticality issues.
- Execute periodic production patching and upgrade management to maintain database performance and security.
- Work closely with users and vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issues impacting service levels.
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements, automation, and efficiency gains in database operations.
- Ensure compliance with banking industry regulations, standards, and best practices related to database management, security, and compliance.
- Monitor and maintain database performance, security, and resilience for various databases including MariaDB, Oracle, DB2, and more.
- Implement backup and restore procedures, including point-in-time recovery for MariaDB, and manage archive logging for Oracle and DB2.
- Conduct routine patching and upgrades both manually and via Robosys.
- Stay updated on industry regulations, standards, and best practices related to database management, security, and compliance.
- Perform basic Linux (RedHat), AIX, and Windows system administration and execute relevant commands as needed.
Requirements:
- Degree in Information Technology or any related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in database management.
- Familiar with at least 2 databases among MySQL/MariaDB, PostgreSQL/EDB, Oracle, MSSQL, DB2, MongoDB, and Redis.
- Hands-on experience with database replication, backup, and restore, particularly for MariaDB, PostgreSQL, EDB, Oracle, and DB2.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools and the ability to take action on Long-Running Queries (LRQ) and LOCKWAITS for Oracle, DB2, and MSSQL.
- Basic knowledge of database monitoring for Redis, including shard synchronization and database health checks.
- Basic knowledge of Linux operating systems (RedHat), AIX, Windows, and associated commands.
- Excellent communication and client management skills.
- Self-motivated team player with a commitment to learning and performance improvement.
- Ability to work various schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to support 24x7 coverage.
