Head of Site Engineering & Maintenance (Pharmaceutical)

Job Summary:
Responsible for managing the engineering function, resources, and systems to ensure that the company consistently upholds high standards of Good Engineering Practice, in alignment with Company Policies, Regulatory Standards, and Statutory Guidelines. Overseeing the management of fixed assets and land utilization through site master planning.

Responsibilities

  • Provide insights and conduct studies to support decision-making processes in collaboration with the site leadership team and central functions
  • Develop the capital project delivery model, including workforce planning, execution, and third-party contracts, from design to completion including initiation and funding of capital projects.
  • Allocate reliability engineering resources to optimize manufacturing output and minimize maintenance costs.
  • Advise on strategies to ensure engineering, automation, and maintenance activities comply with industry regulations and standards.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, safety, and quality within the engineering and maintenance teams.
  • Leads an internal team along with a variable workforce of external contractors. Select and manage suppliers to ensure they meet the company's standards and requirements.
  • Ensure engineering strategies and processes meet site objectives, focusing on cost, quality, and delivery to drive manufacturing excellence.
  • Support the implementation of the company Manufacturing System and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Lead and implement conservation efforts, sustainable projects and measures to optimize energy usage.
  • Oversee engineering projects to drive improvements in quality, cost, and delivery, maximizing efficiency and engineering excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and foster a culture of safety and well-being within the technical team.
  • Manage and maintain preventive maintenance programs to ensure high equipment efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP and HSE regulatory inspections and audits, driving positive outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain robust compliance work systems for internal and external audits, fostering a culture of compliance.



Requirements:

  • Degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with minimum of 8 years' experience in plant engineering services, 5 years of which in management position in a chemicals process manufacturing environment.
  • A sound knowledge of Good Engineering Practice and experience in plant equipment's technologies, maintenance and operations is necessary
  • Certified Project Manager (PMP)
  • Experiences in managing project and chemicals plant commission and with a high level of commitment to ensure safe working practices.
