Maintenance Engineer (Pharma/ Production Equipment Troubleshooting)

Job Summary:
- Responsible for managing, setup and optimizing production equipment maintenance activities to ensure all equipment operates efficiently and meets performance standards.
- This includes supporting SAP development for plant maintenance planning and spare parts management, as well as handling master data creation and maintenance, such as functional locations, equipment, maintenance plans, and Bills of Materials (BOM).
- Also involves collaborating with capital project teams and engineering groups to ensure that maintenance-related master data aligns with project timelines, site requirements, and GMP standards.
- Maintaining inventory, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with regulatory expectations.
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on production equipment, utility systems, and facility infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and compliance with industry standards
Responsibilities:
- To support the site startup with implementing and deploy plant maintenance setup. This includes develops and implements maintenance plans, including regular, preventative, predictive, and shutdown maintenance to help ensure all equipment, machinery, and processes are in working order and performing as needed.
- Continuous improvements in preventive maintenance and scheduling processes are in working order and performing as needed.
- Developing a maintenance plan in alignment with Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) by incorporating risk management strategies and proactive maintenance practices to prevent equipment failures.
- Ability to create preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for manufacturing equipment, ensuring that the maintenance plan aligns with the global maintenance strategy approach.
- Knowledge in setting up an initial inventory of spare parts based on the criticality of equipment and manufacturer recommendations, ensuring smooth plant operations after startup.
- Ensuring that all equipment maintenance activities and setups comply with applicable industry regulations such as cGMP, FDA guidelines, and other relevant standards.
- Proficiency in using SAP to track maintenance schedules, manage work orders, maintain spare parts inventories, and record maintenance history.
- Familiarity with the specialized equipment used in biopharmaceutical plants, including bioreactors, filtration systems, chromatography systems, autoclaves, and clean-in-place (CIP) systems.
- Overseeing the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of key equipment utilized in the manufacturing process.
- Addressing equipment failures or breakdowns promptly to minimize production downtime and maintain smooth operations.
- Maintaining thorough documentation for compliance purposes, including the creation of maintenance plans, work order logs, change requests, deviations, and corrective actions.
- Collaborating closely with production, quality control, and engineering teams to identify equipment issues, suggest solutions, and implement necessary changes.
- Coordinating with vendors and suppliers for maintenance services and spare parts procurement.
- Identifying opportunities to optimize processes, reduce costs, and enhance efficiency in relation to equipment and maintenance practices.
- Assisting in training maintenance technicians on proper equipment operation, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols.
- Ensuring all maintenance activities are performed safely, adhering to company safety policies, risk assessments, and regulatory requirements.
Requirement:
- Bachelor's degree or relevant in Engineering
- Knowledge and experience of S4/HANA.
- 3-5 years of experience as a Maintenance Engineer in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Experience in GMP/Pharmaceutical environment with equipment maintenance involvement.
- Experience in developing maintenance procedures for newly equipment in green field plant.
- Demonstrates an ability and desire to learn from experience.
