Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning and Initiation:
- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and milestones
- Identify and allocate necessary resources
2. Team Management:
- Assemble and lead the project team, including data engineers, analysts, and other stakeholders
- Assign tasks, set priorities, and monitor progress
- Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to team members
3. Communication and Coordination:
- Facilitate regular communication and updates with stakeholders
- Organize and conduct project meetings and progress reports
- Ensure all team members are aligned with project goals and timelines
4. Risk Management:
- Identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues
- Develop and implement mitigation strategies and contingency plans
- Continuously monitor risk factors and adjust plans as needed
5. Budget and Resource Management:
- Create and manage the project budget
- Monitor project expenditures to ensure alignment with budgetary constraints
- Manage resources, including data infrastructure and external vendors
6. Quality Control:
- Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and requirements
- Implement and oversee quality assurance and control processes
- Conduct quality reviews and facilitate necessary improvements
7. Project Closure:
- Ensure all project tasks and objectives are completed successfully
- Conduct project evaluations, document lessons learned, and prepare closure reports
- Deliver final project deliverables to stakeholders
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Technology, or related field
- Proven experience as a Project Manager, specifically in data engineering or related fields
- Good understanding of data engineering principles, tools, and technologies
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in project management software and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum)
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under tight deadlines
PMP, PRINCE2, or similar project management certification is a plus
