Job Scope:
The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for managing infrastructure-related issues, which includes evaluation, conceptualisation, development, implementation, maintenance and support of IT infrastructure systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Administration
- Perform network administration in a heterogeneous environment (production, disaster recovery (DR), test) comprising of network and security equipment, telecommunication links.
- Perform hardening, upgrade and enhancement on IT infrastructure components.
- Monitor, assess, schedule and implement network, and product-specific security vulnerability patches.
- Monitor obsolescence of IT infrastructure components (network systems).
- Monitor expiry and perform renewal of network system password and certificates.
- Implement network backups operations to ensure data recoverability and business continuity.
- Execute disaster recovery plans for IT infrastructure (network systems) and conduct regular disaster recovery testing and component switchover exercises to ensure usability of standby and DR equipment.
Project Management and Support
- Provide infrastructure (system and network) support to projects in accordance to the project timeline.
- Manage infrastructure enhancement / upgrade projects in accordance to established project management guidelines.
Incident and Problem Management
- Provide second level network support and resolve incidents and problems in accordance to established Service Level Agreement (SLA).
- Perform problem diagnosis on incidents and propose and implement measures to prevent recurrence.
Change and Release Management
- Schedule and release network system changes to production environment in accordance to the change management process / procedures.
Configuration Management
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive operating system hardware and software configuration database / library of all IT infrastructure components used in the production environment.
Capacity and Performance Management
- Perform infrastructure system and network capacity monitoring and planning.
- Monitor and conduct performance tuning to optimize network performance.
Process Management
- Implement the underlying processes supporting IT service management, in conformance to corporate security policies and guidelines.
Documentation
- Develop and maintain technical and process documents to upkeep IT infrastructure.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in managing network and security equipment such as routers, switches, firewalls, VPN, load balancer, DNS, NAC.
- Experience in public cloud administration.
- Familiar with data center operations.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills and able to work independently as well as in a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly develop solutions that balance technical needs and business impact.
- Possess customer-oriented mindset.
- Ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks and projects effectively.
- Preferably holds Certifications in Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Check Point Certified Security Administrator Certification (CCSA), Check Point Certified Security Expert Certification (CCSE), Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator (PCNSA), Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer Certification (PCNSE) and NSE (up to level 4).
