Role Summary:
The Software Project Manager is responsible to oversee the planning, execution and delivery of software development projects. The role requires a excellent understanding of software development methodologies and industrial automation applications. The ideal candidate will lead cross functional teams, manage project timelines and budgets and ensure successful deployment of enterprise grade software solutions.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Develop project plans, define scope, set milestones, and ensure timely execution of software development projects.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Business units, Engineering, IT, Product management, operations) and external stakeholders to align project objectives with business goals.
- Manage project resources, assign tasks, and ensure optimal utilization of development teams.
- Identify potential project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and proactively address issues.
- Monitor project budgets, control costs, and optimize expenditures.
- Ensure software solutions meet industry regulations, company standards, and customer expectations.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives), track progress using project management tools, and drive continuous improvement.
- Maintain project documentation, provide regular progress reports to senior management, and communicate project status to stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science or equivalent (required), Masters
- PMP, CSM, or PMI-ACP certification
- 5+ years of experience in software project management, preferably in an industrial, manufacturing, or engineering environment.
- Proven experience managing software development projects using Agile, Scrum, or other methodologies.
- Excellent technical background in Azure Cloud architecture, software development processes and programming.
- Experience working with industrial automation, IoT, or equipment control systems
Desirable Skills:
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with software development tools (JIRA, Confluence, Azure DevOps, etc.).
- Understanding of industrial communication protocols (MODBUS, OPC UA, etc.) is beneficial.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices for industrial software solutions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with diverse teams.
